Short answers to the most common questions about cleaning, scheduling and pricing with St. Marys Cleaning. Our pricing, service areas and approach are the same as described on the Services and Request a Cleaning pages.

Most bookings are based on time, but the hourly rate depends on the service type. Basic cleaning starts at $35/hour per cleaner, deep cleaning starts at $40/hour, move-in / move-out starts at $45/hour, commercial cleaning starts at $40/hour, and first-time deep commercial cleaning starts at $45/hour. There is a minimum of 2 hours per visit. Amounts are shown before tax. We are not currently charging HST. If required in the future, HST (13%) will be added to invoices.

We bill by total labour time (person-hours). Example: 2 cleaners × 2 hours = 4 labour hours.

On the Request a Cleaning page we use your details to generate a non-binding planning estimate. The final invoice is based on actual time on site and confirmed with you before we start.
For addresses located 10 km or more from St. Marys, an estimated travel time may be applied. Travel time is calculated using Google Maps driving time.

Addresses within 10 km of St. Marys do not include travel time.
The estimate on the request form is based on typical homes and offices in the St. Marys and Stratford area. It uses the information you provide, the service type you choose, and any add-ons or task-based items to calculate a realistic planning range.

It is still an estimate, not a final invoice. Before starting, we confirm the scope and priorities. The final invoice is based on actual labour time on site (person-hours).
On the Request a Cleaning form you choose the type of service:

Basic / maintenance cleaning starts at $35/hour and is meant for regular upkeep.

Deep cleaning starts at $40/hour because it is more detailed and takes more time per room.

Move-in / move-out starts at $45/hour because the work is more detailed and usually inspection-focused.

Commercial / office cleaning starts at $40/hour. If a first-time deep commercial clean is needed, pricing can start at $45/hour.
Yes. On the Request a Cleaning page you can switch from “Full space” to “Specific tasks only”. In this mode you select only the tasks you need.

The form calculates a planning estimate based on typical durations. The 2-hour minimum still applies for standalone visits. If tasks are combined with cleaning at the same address, billing is based on total combined time. Specific tasks keep their own estimate flow in the form. Standard task items are estimated at $35/hour, while kitchen and bathroom deep-clean task items are estimated at $40/hour.
No. Add-ons are optional extras. They are not included in standard basic cleaning unless you select them. The form adds extra time for the add-ons you choose, so your estimate updates before you submit the request.
Yes. We normally bring our own products, cloths and basic equipment suitable for most homes and small offices. If you prefer specific products for certain surfaces, note this on the request form and we will follow your instructions.
St. Marys is our home base. We regularly serve St. Marys, parts of Stratford (by agreement), and nearby communities within approximately 15-20 km. For further addresses, availability depends on timing, route, and job scope.
You do not have to be home. We agree on access in advance (keys, lockbox, building entry, etc.). Access details are used only for scheduled visits and follow your instructions.
We’re used to working in homes with dogs and cats. You can describe pet rules on the request form. We follow your instructions for gates, doors, crates, and keep pets safe during the visit.
You can reschedule or skip a visit - we ask for as much notice as possible so the time can be offered to someone else. For recurring clients, skipping may make the next visit take slightly longer; we confirm before we start.
We do not handle heavy construction debris, biohazard/mould remediation, sewage issues, unsafe-height work, or junk hauling. If unsure, describe it in the request notes and we’ll confirm what’s included.
Typically payment is due on the day of service once the visit is complete. We provide a summary of labour time (person-hours) and scope completed. Amounts are before tax. We are not currently charging HST. If required in the future, HST (13%) will be added to invoices.
We agree on a typical scope, frequency and preferred time window. The first visit may take longer (especially if a deep clean is needed). After that, visits usually stay close to the same time unless scope changes, traffic increases, or add-ons are added.
